Christmas in Snapshots
Here are a few snapshots from around town and our first Christmas on Madison Street. We had a great time celebrating with family and friends and are feeling very fortunate for the amazing parents/role models we have in our lives. They have helped us in more ways than we can count this past year, and we are so thankful for their love and undying support. Here's to a happy 2013!

Playing House: Before & After
I've gotten some requests recently for house updates, so I thought I'd post a few before & after pictures. It's nice to look back at photos of the first few times we saw the house and really take in how far we've come. Because it was an "as-is" estate sale, we had to look past all the clutter from the previous owner and really use our imagination to see the home's full potential.

Playing House: Happy Fall!
We have been enjoying the fall weather around here these days and are gearing up for our first Halloween in the house.
1. One of my favorite seasonal decorations, corn on the front door. / 2. Our backyard. Still haven't raked, but maybe soon? / 3. We finally finished fixing up our front steps and can actually sit on them now. Halloween was a good motivator for that project. / 4. Just a few of our many pumpkins and colorful mums.
Tonight we are hunkering down in anticipation of Hurricane Sandy and thanking ourselves for making the new roof a priority.

Happy Labor Day!
This weekend was very productive around here. Though we still have a lot of work ahead of us and a lot of empty rooms, the house is definitely feeling more "lived in" these days.

Playing House: Part 2
The Move. The past few weeks have been a whirlwind. We spent a few days at the beach relaxing and trying to mentally prepare for our move. Then drove home Thursday morning to spend our last official night in the apartment—amongst boxes. Truthfully, for me, it was good to complete the move like the ripping off of a band-aid, and to be distracted and exhausted, instead of sad and nostalgic. Moving is never fun and we loved that apartment. But the new house has been an awesome change. And despite the endless projects ahead of us, we're pretty excited to be homeowners.
